Writing Habits That Actually Work (and Stick)
| Wesley McIntyre
Talent matters—but habits matter more.
Consistent writing doesn’t come from willpower alone. It comes from routine. Writing at the same time each day trains your brain to show up ready.
Create a ritual: a specific drink, playlist, or location reserved only for writing. Protect that time fiercely, even if the output feels small.
Equally important is rest. Burnout kills creativity faster than any lack of skill. Take breaks. Move your body. Step away from the screen.
Writing is a long game. Sustainable habits win.
