Writing for the Long Game — Staying Motivated Over Time
| Wesley McIntyre
Most writers don’t quit because they lack talent. They quit because progress feels invisible.
Celebrate milestones: finishing a chapter, hitting a word count, revising a tough section. Progress compounds quietly.
Community also matters. Share work with trusted peers. Read others’ journeys. Writing can be solitary—but it shouldn’t be isolating.
Above all, remember why you started. Stories matter. Your voice matters.
